Équilibre

Équilibre is a performing arts venue in Fribourg designed to host various live productions across multiple theater spaces. The main hall seats approximately 680 spectators, with additional smaller spaces available for rehearsals and more intimate events.

The theater was founded following an architectural competition around 2000 that involved several neighboring towns in the region. Zurich architect Jean-Pierre Dürig won the competition and created the building with its distinctive angular design.

This theater serves as a meeting point for the Fribourg community, hosting diverse artistic expressions from drama to contemporary dance throughout the year. Audiences of all ages gather here to experience live performances that reflect both classical and modern creative practices.
