The Equilibre theater consists of three sectors including a main entrance hall, stage facilities, and administrative offices with rehearsal spaces.
The theater emerged from an architectural competition in 2000, involving multiple towns including Fribourg, Villars-sur-Glane, Granges-Paccot, Givisiez, and Corminboeuf.
Each season features 63 different shows with 160 public performances, encompassing theater, dance, music, opera, and children's productions.
The venue contains a main hall accommodating 681 spectators, a 120-seat rehearsal studio, and a 20-seat conference room for various events.
The building, designed by Zurich architect Jean-Pierre Dürig, presents an angular geometric structure that stands out in central Fribourg.
