Goupitan Dam, Arch dam and hydroelectric power station on Wu River, Guizhou Province, China.
The Goupitan Dam features a double-curvature arch structure measuring 232.5 meters in height and 557.11 meters in length across the Wu River.
Construction of this substantial hydroelectric facility started in November 2003, with the first generator becoming operational in June 2009 and full completion in 2011.
The development of Goupitan Dam represents China's engineering capabilities in renewable energy infrastructure and water resource management in Guizhou Province.
Five turbines within the dam structure generate a total capacity of 3,000 MW, producing approximately 9.667 TWh of electricity annually for the region.
