Gasherbrum I, Mountain in the Karakoram range
Gasherbrum I, also known as Hidden Peak, is the 11th highest mountain on Earth.
It was first climbed on July 5, 1958, by an American expedition.
Its name 'Gasherbrum' originates from the Balti words 'rgasha' (beautiful) and 'brum' (mountain).
Climbing Gasherbrum I requires obtaining a permit from the Pakistani government.
Gasherbrum I is part of the Gasherbrum massif, which contains several peaks above eight thousand meters.
