Rongbuk Glacier, Glacier in the Tibet Autonomous Region
Rongbuk Glacier is located at the northern slope of Mount Everest.
It was first measured and photographed in 1921 during the British Mount Everest reconnaissance expedition.
The glacier holds spiritual significance for local Tibetan communities.
Considered as one of the gateways to Mount Everest from the north side.
Known for the Rongbuk Monastery, which is the highest monastery in the world.
