Miaojiang Great Wall, Fortified line in China
The Miaojiang Great Wall is often referred to as the Southern Great Wall of China.
Built in 1554, this structure was intended to protect against local Miao rebellions.
It represents a period of exchange and conflict between the Ming Dynasty and local ethnic groups.
It stretches over mountainous terrain, extending roughly 190 kilometers.
Unlike its northern counterpart, this wall is less known but equally steeped in history.
