Xilai Temple, building in China

Welcome to the Xilai Temple, located in the Xilai Temple Lane of Ganzhou District, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, China. This temple is a Han Chinese Buddhist Chan sect monastery and was listed as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2006. The Xilai Temple was first built during the Tang Dynasty and was rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty. Originally named "Ci Yun Jing She," it was renamed "Xilai Temple" during the 59th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1702). It is currently the residence of the Buddhist Association of Ganzhou District. The temple complex includes several buildings such as the mountain gate, Guanyin Hall, scripture library, and Vajra Hall. The Vajra Hall is the only Ming Dynasty building in Zhangye City. As you enter the mountain gate, you will be greeted by the serene atmosphere of the temple. The Guanyin Hall is dedicated to the bodhisattva of compassion and features a statue of Guanyin with a thousand hands and eyes. The scripture library houses a collection of Buddhist scriptures and is a peaceful place for meditation. The Vajra Hall is the main hall of the temple and is where the monks hold their daily rituals. The hall is adorned with intricate carvings and paintings depicting Buddhist stories and legends. The hall also houses a large statue of Vairocana Buddha, the central figure of the Huayan school of Buddhism. Visitors can also explore the surrounding gardens and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The Xilai Temple is a great place to learn about Chinese Buddhist culture and history. If you are interested in Buddhism or simply want to experience the peacefulness of a traditional Chinese temple, the Xilai Temple is definitely worth a visit.
