China Resources Tower, Postmodern skyscraper in Yuehai Subdistrict, Shenzhen, China.
China Resources Tower is a 392.5-meter-high building with 67 floors that tapers toward the top and is supported by 56 steel columns. Its structure allows spacious office floors without interior supports throughout most of its levels.
The building was completed in 2017 and marks a significant milestone in Shenzhen's rapid urban expansion. It became the city's third tallest structure and has shaped the skyline since its opening.
The building connects contemporary design with references to Chinese nature, as its architects drew inspiration from the shape of young bamboo shoots. Visitors can notice this subtle connection between modern materials and traditional forms that shapes the structure.
The building is equipped with 59 elevators that enable quick movement throughout all floors. The open office layouts without interior columns make it easy to navigate and use the spaces.
At the tower's peak, 28 columns converge to form a 68.4-meter-high hall designed for large events and gatherings. This space creates an unexpected open area at such an extreme height.
