The Blagoveshchensk–Heihe Bridge is a cable-stayed road crossing over the Amur River linking Blagoveshchensk in Russia with Heihe in China. The structure carries two lanes and features a main span of 147 meters (482 feet), with a total length of 1,280 meters (4,200 feet) and a width of 14.5 meters (48 feet).
Construction work began in December 2016 and the crossing was finished in November 2019, though its opening was delayed until June 2022. Vehicle traffic started in January 2023, creating the first direct road link between Russia and China.
The bridge functions as a physical connection point between Russian and Chinese communities, enabling direct transportation between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe cities.
The crossing operates continuously and handles up to 630 trucks, 164 buses and 68 cars each day. Travelers can pay in rubles or yuan and should expect waiting times for customs clearance.
The border runs through a protected forest zone on the Russian bank with coniferous trees along the shore, while the Chinese side opens onto flat farmland. The pylons reach about 60 meters (197 feet) in height and are lit at night, visible from both cities.
