Messkirch, Medieval municipality in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Meßkirch is a town in Baden-Württemberg situated at 614 meters above sea level between Lake Constance and the Danube River, encompassing nine surrounding villages across 76 square kilometers. The settlement features medieval structures and provides access to a rural region with several communities.

The settlement dates back to the Bronze Age over 3000 years ago and later became a residence for the counts of Zimmern in the 16th century. This development shaped the place's importance in the region across centuries.

The Parish Church of St. Martin displays late-Gothic architecture and houses the Adoration of the Magi painted by the Master of Meßkirch. This artwork remains central to the town's religious life and visual identity.

The town has direct connections to Stuttgart, about 89 kilometers away, and offers various accommodation options for visitors throughout the year. With good accessibility and local facilities, travelers can plan their stays flexibly.

The Campus Galli project nearby uses medieval building techniques to construct a Carolingian monastery using only 9th-century tools. Visitors can watch how craftwork methods from over 1000 years ago work in practice.
