Wangen im Allgäu

The municipality extends across 105 square kilometers of land at an elevation of 556 meters, featuring old buildings and modern developments within its boundaries.

First documented as Wangun in 815, the settlement received the status of free imperial city from King Rudolph I in 1286 and maintained this position until 1802.
