Brandis

Brandis is a municipality in Saxony composed of several merged village centers that have grown together over time. The town spreads across gentle terrain with dispersed residential areas, green spaces, and traditional village cores throughout its landscape.

The municipality formed through merging several villages, with Beucha and Polenz incorporated in the late 1990s. This consolidation brought together historic village cores and shaped the community as it exists today.

The Brandis community actively participates in digital initiatives, including the creation of educational applications and technological programs for residents of all generations.

The town connects to Leipzig through the Beucha railway station with regular train service for convenient access. Electric vehicle charging stations are located near the town hall for visitors with electric cars.

The community earned recognition as a Saxon Innovation Municipality in 2014 and operates a digital laboratory in a former community center. This facility supports technological projects and experimental initiatives for residents of varying ages.
