Rheinsberg Palace, Rococo palace in Rheinsberg, Germany.
Rheinsberg Palace is a palace in Rheinsberg, Germany, built in the Frederician Rococo style. Two towers frame the facade while the wings enclose a courtyard that opens toward Lake Grienerick.
Frederick the Great lived here between 1736 and 1740 before becoming king. Architects Kemmeter and Knobelsdorff added extra floors and expanded the complex during this period.
The palace houses both the Kurt Tucholsky Literature Museum and the Music Academy Rheinsberg, continuing its tradition as a center for arts.
Guided tours through the rooms run from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 AM and 4 PM. Combined tickets allow access to both museums inside the building.
The ceiling of the grand mirror hall displays an original painting titled Venus, created by court artist Antoine Pesne in the 18th century. This work is among the few surviving room decorations from that era.
