Devil's Cave

Devil's Cave is a limestone formation extending 1,500 meters through multiple interconnected chambers decorated with mineral deposits, stalactites, and stalagmites. The passages display varied geological patterns and formations that developed over thousands of years.

Local people discovered the cave system before 1922, when organized exploration started. These investigations uncovered remains of cave bears from approximately 25,000 years ago.

The name comes from old local stories where people blamed the disappearance of livestock on supernatural forces. Visitors can still sense today how this place held a mysterious significance in the imagination of those who lived nearby.

The cave maintains a constant temperature year-round, so bring warm clothing for the 45-minute guided tours. Tours are offered in German and English to help visitors navigate the passages.

Inside the cave is a medical station that uses the natural environment to treat respiratory conditions. Visitors can experience specialized healing sessions that take advantage of the cave's unique properties.
