Arena Leipzig, Multi-purpose sports hall in Leipzig, Germany
Arena Leipzig is a multi-purpose hall within the Leipzig Sports Forum, consisting of three separate areas designed for track and field as well as other indoor sports. The main hall offers seating for several thousand visitors and can be adapted to different competition formats through modular floors and adjustable elements.
The facility opened in May 2002 as part of the Leipzig Sports Forum to meet international standards for indoor competitions. It replaced older training facilities and has since been repeatedly used for regional championships and larger events.
The complex serves as home ground for several local sports clubs and provides regular training opportunities in track and field for young athletes. The central hall transforms during major events into a gathering place where spectators from across the region come together to follow team sports or musical performances.
The facility is well accessible by public transport, and parking options are available nearby. Visitor areas are accessible at ground level, and flexible seating allows different seating arrangements depending on the event.
The facility features a specialized running tunnel measuring 136 meters in length, equipped with timing systems and containing separate sectors for long jump and triple jump. This training area remains operational even during larger public events and is used parallel to the main hall.
