Seligenthal abbey, Cistercian nunnery in Landshut, Germany.
The abbey features a church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary, with detailed stucco work created by Johann Baptist Zimmermann between 1732 and 1734.
Founded in 1232 by Ludmilla of Bohemia, widow of Ludwig I des Kelheimer, the abbey served as a burial place for members of the Wittelsbach family.
The monastery established a writing school in 1260, supporting an educational community that expanded to include 70 sisters at its height.
The abbey currently operates multiple educational facilities through the Seligenthal School Foundation, including kindergarten, primary school, and grammar school programs.
The original Afra Chapel, which predates the main abbey church, contains historical wooden figures and maintains its sacred function within the complex.
