Hoffnungskirche, Art Nouveau church in Pankow, Germany.
The Hoffnungskirche features colossal pilasters on its facade and a pagoda-style roof topped with a tall gabled structure at its summit.
Architect Walter Köppen designed this religious building, which opened its doors to the community on December 31, 1912, showcasing Art Nouveau architecture.
The church interior contains 36 angel representations through paintings and stone sculptures, reflecting the artistic preferences of early 20th-century German craftsmanship.
The building stands on wooden piles with plastered masonry construction and includes robust balconies supported by four columns on three interior sides.
On April 9, 1988, the church hosted a concert by punk band Die Toten Hosen during the German Democratic Republic period.
