Alte Lahnbrücke

The Alte Lahnbrücke is a stone arch bridge that spans across the Lahn River with multiple arches supporting the structure. It connects the medieval old town with neighborhoods on the opposite bank and has long shaped the city's appearance.

The bridge was built between 1250 and 1280 with two defensive towers that were part of its original design. These towers were removed in 1832, marking a major change to the structure's appearance.

In 1865 the original wall was replaced with an iron lattice structure to create a new walkway. This modification shows how the bridge adapted to the changing needs of the city over time.
