Biblis, Municipality in Bergstraße district, Germany

Biblis is a municipality in the Bergstraße region between Darmstadt and Mannheim that spans across rural countryside. Besides the main settlement, the localities of Nordheim and Wattenheim are part of the municipality.

The earliest written record dates to the 9th century when local properties were transferred to a monastery in the region. The area's identity formed over centuries through its position between larger regional centers.

St. Bartolomew's Church has shaped the local identity since the 1800s with its red-brick design that reflects regional building traditions. The structure remains a gathering place for the community and anchors the center of town.

The municipality sits on a federal road linking to major regional centers and has train services to larger nearby cities. The location makes it easy to reach Darmstadt, Mannheim, and other surrounding areas by public transport.

A former military airfield from the 20th century was later converted into an equestrian center with restaurant facilities. The site still shows traces of its earlier military use beneath its current peaceful purpose.
