Kellenried Abbey, Benedictine monastery in Berg, Germany.

The Kellenried Abbey stands with its Baroque Revival church designed by architect Adolf J. Lorenz in Baden-Württemberg near Lake Constance.

Founded by the Beuronese Congregation in 1924, the monastery received abbey status in 1926 and endured expulsion during National Socialist rule from 1940 to 1945.

The abbey maintains a tradition of displaying a historical Baroque nativity scene featuring figures dating back to the seventeenth century from Christmas until February.

Visitors can purchase handmade nativity figures and candles created by the resident nuns at the abbey shop in Kellenried.

The first nuns who established this monastery came from Saint Gabriel Abbey in Bertholdstein and Saint Hemma Abbey in Gurk, Carinthia.
