Altes Wasserwerk

The Altes Wasserwerk is a building in the Gronau district that originally served water supply functions and was later repurposed. The structure displays pointed arches, steep rooflines, and decorative details reflecting 19th-century Gothic Revival design.

The waterworks was established in 1873 by the Rhine Waterworks Company and supplied Bonn with water until 1958. The city then took over the building and transformed it into a modern office complex.

The original machinery room and boiler house remain intact, displaying industrial equipment from the waterworks era. These preserved components offer a rare glimpse into the technical processes of the late 19th century.
