Landshut's old train station

Landshut's former railway station is a 19th-century structure with stone walls, a wide front facade, and classical architectural forms typical of the railway age. The building displays the solid construction methods common to train stations of that period, built to withstand heavy use and changing conditions.

The railway station was constructed in 1857 and served as a terminal until 1880, when operations shifted to a new through station. This move marked a turning point in how the city's rail infrastructure developed and reflected changes in transportation needs.

The building reflects the time when railways transformed how people in Bavaria could move around and connect with distant places. Visitors can see how important rail transport became for the city's growth during that era.
