St. Markus

St. Markus is a Gothic church in Eltville am Rhein featuring a prominent west tower that rises approximately 56 meters (184 feet) and is topped with an ornate spire. The tower stands on a square foundation and houses four bells from different eras, making the building a distinctive landmark for the town.

The building began as a chapel documented between 1060 and 1072 and later evolved into an independent parish church. Major construction took place between 1477 and 1506, with significant interior modifications made in the 18th century that altered how the space felt inside.
