Babenhausen

Babenhausen is a medieval town in Darmstadt-Dieburg featuring a well-preserved town center with timber-frame buildings, including the Witch Tower and an old marketplace. The structures date from the 15th century and define the character of the old town with their traditional architecture.

The town developed as a residence for the Counts of Hanau-Lichtenberg during the Middle Ages. St. Nicholas Church, built in 1262, contains medieval frescoes that document this early period.
