Schwabmünchen is a municipality in Augsburg district situated on a Bavarian landscape at approximately 558 meters elevation. The town contains residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, and mixed infrastructure.
First documented in 954 as castellum Mantahinga, the settlement received market town privileges from Emperor Ferdinand I in 1562. City status was granted in 1953.
The annual Michaelimarkt takes place on the last weekend of September, bringing together craftspeople, merchants, and residents. This fair remains a key gathering point where local traditions are celebrated.
