Halensee

Halensee extends over 1.27 square kilometers, making it the second smallest administrative division in Berlin, after the Hansaviertel district.

The area transformed from a villa settlement into an established Berlin district around 1880, becoming part of Greater Berlin during the administrative reform of 1920.

The Hochmeister Church stands as an architectural centerpiece of the district, representing the religious and community life of local residents through generations.

The Berlin-Halensee station connects residents to the S-Bahn lines S41, S42, and S46, providing direct access to the Berlin Ringbahn railway system.

The district takes its name from Lake Halensee, which, despite giving the area its identity, actually belongs to the neighboring Grunewald district.
