The steel structure reaches 146.78 meters into the sky and stands on a square base measuring 20 meters on each side.
Heinrich Straumer designed this broadcast tower, which began operations in September 1926 during the third German radio exhibition.
The tower earned the nickname 'der lange Lulatsch' from Berlin residents, translating to 'the tall lanky one' in local dialect.
Visitors can access the observation platform at 125 meters and restaurant at 52 meters using an elevator that travels 4 meters per second.
The structure rests on porcelain insulators manufactured by the Royal Prussian Porcelain Factory, making it a rare engineering example worldwide.
