RBB broadcasting center Berlin
RBB broadcasting center Berlin, Broadcasting center in Westend, Germany.
The RBB broadcasting center is an administrative building and architectural monument in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf that houses multiple production areas for radio and television. The spaces are organized functionally to create different types of content, from studio recordings to post-production work.
The building was constructed between 1965 and 1970 in response to Berlin's growing media needs during the post-war period. Its creation reflected the demands of a divided city that required strong local media infrastructure.
The broadcasting center shapes media life in Berlin and Brandenburg through its daily production of news and entertainment programs. The work here connects people across the region by sharing local stories and information tailored to their communities.
Visitors can enter the building during business hours Monday through Friday and should inquire at the main reception about access arrangements in advance. The public has access to certain areas while production processes and security protocols must be respected.
The studios feature adjustable acoustic panels that can modify sound properties for different types of broadcasts. This technical flexibility allows radio and television productions to achieve very different sound qualities under the same roof.
