Berlin Hackescher Markt station
Berlin Hackescher Markt station, Renaissance Revival railway station in Berlin-Mitte, Germany
The Berlin Hackescher Markt station features brick construction with elevated platforms, serving as a central transportation point in the German capital.
The station, designed by architect Johannes Vollmer, opened on January 1, 1882, initially under the name Börse before changing to Marx-Engels-Platz.
The station maintains its original Renaissance Revival architecture from 1882, making it one of two preserved Stadtbahn stations in central Berlin.
Four tram lines, night bus services, and S-Bahn routes S3, S5, S7, and S9 connect passengers through this Category 4 transportation hub.
The station structure includes three separate elevators connecting the entrance level to the S-Bahn platform, accommodating passenger accessibility needs.
