Auferstehungskirche

The Auferstehungskirche features an irregular hexagonal floor plan with wooden paneled ceilings and a 39.5-meter concrete bell tower at Helmstedter Street.

The church community formed in 1957 as an offshoot of St. Petri congregation, and architects Horst Langer and Andreas Friess completed the building at Easter 1964.

The interior space contains 320 seats centered around a curved basalt altar, with a large bronze crucifix suspended above the worship area.

Visitors can access the church using public transit lines 1, 2, 8, 123, 128, and 134, with services held regularly on Sundays at 11:00.

The Petersen organ, built in 1969 by Hillebrand, features 22 registers across two manuals and pedals, while four bells cast by Schilling bear the inscription 'You shall be my witnesses'.
