This Christmas market traces its roots back to the 15th century, though it received its current name Christkindlesmarkt in 1949. The event represents one of the oldest holiday traditions in the German-speaking world.

The market runs from late November through December, with varying hours depending on the day of the week. It closes at 20:00 on Sundays through Thursdays, while staying open until 21:30 on Fridays and Saturdays.
