Alsfeld station, Railway station in Alsfeld, Germany.
The station building exhibits symmetrical design principles with classical columns and geometrical forms following Neoclassical architectural patterns of the early 19th century.
The station commenced operations on July 29, 1870, as part of the Grünberg-Alsfeld section, initially serving as a terminus for trains from Giessen.
The station building, constructed between 1914 and 1915, stands as a protected monument representing German railway architecture and transportation development.
Three platform tracks serve passengers, with Track 1 adjacent to the entrance and Tracks 2 and 3 on an island platform accessible through a pedestrian subway.
The station underwent a substantial €24.6 million modernization in 2009, funded through an economic stimulus package while preserving its historical features.
