Mainz-Bischofsheim station, Railway station in Bischofsheim, Germany
The Mainz-Bischofsheim station features a two-storey entrance building constructed on a hillside with access to four operational platforms via a footbridge.
The station opened in 1904 and maintained its name even after Bischofsheim regained independence from Mainz following the administrative changes between 1930 and 1945.
The Art Nouveau architecture of the station and its water tower earned recognition as cultural monuments under Hessian preservation laws.
The station serves approximately 2,000 daily passengers with S-Bahn lines S8 and S9 operating every 15 minutes between Wiesbaden and Hanau.
Part of the Mainz rail bypass development, this station separated freight and passenger operations to reduce congestion at Mainz Hauptbahnhof.
