Bauernhofmuseum Jexhof

The Bauernhofmuseum Jexhof is a three-sided farm complex in Schöngeising that preserves residential and working spaces from the early 20th century. The site includes a main farmhouse, animal shelters, storage buildings, and workshops filled with period tools, furniture, and household items that show how people and animals lived on the property.

The farm was first recorded in 1433 and had strong ties to the nearby Fürstenfeld Monastery for centuries. These monastic connections shaped how the farm operated and what it produced over generations.

The museum grounds show how families lived and worked together in close quarters, with buildings arranged to reflect daily routines and the rhythm of farm life. Visitors can see where cooking happened, where animals were kept, and how people and livestock shared the same space.

The farm is located near Schöngeising and is easy to reach by car or public transport, with visitors able to see the grounds at their own pace during open hours. Guided tours are available to help visitors understand how each building was used and what daily life looked like.

The grounds feature an outdoor sound path with interactive musical installations that visitors can play and explore. These instruments were developed in collaboration with a local music school, making the visit more hands-on and creative than typical farm museums.
