Hohenaschau Castle, Medieval castle in Aschau im Chiemgau, Germany

The stone castle stands on an elevated position at the entrance of Upper Priental Valley, featuring Renaissance architecture and Baroque additions.

Built in the late 12th century by Konrad and Arnold von Hirnsberg, the castle served as an administrative center for noble families in western Chiemgau.

The former beneficiaries' house within the castle complex now contains the Priental Museum, displaying regional artifacts from Aschau and Sachrang.

Guided tours operate from May through October on specific days, with adult tickets priced at 7 euros and children's admission at 3 euros.

The Laubensaal room contains complete wall paintings from the 17th century, accessible only through guided castle tours.
