Sculpture Museum Prof. Wandschneider

The Sculpture Museum Prof. Wandschneider displays over 40 sculptures, models, busts, and statues in a renovated building in Plau am See. The collection also includes more than 500 photographs and images that document the professor's artistic work throughout his career.

The original Wandschneider Museum was founded in 1928 in a former parsonage and operated until 1947. The current museum reopened in 1994 in a renovated castle museum building, continuing to preserve the artist's legacy.

Wilhelm Wandschneider was a sculptor whose works stand throughout Germany, including monuments to important historical figures. His creations continue to shape the appearance of many places across the region today.

The museum is located in a well-maintained building near the lake and is easy to find. Visitors should allow time to view the individual works and photographs at their own pace.

The museum preserves an honorary citizenship certificate from 1926 showing the artist's recognition in the city. It also features two portraits of the sculptor painted by notable artists of his time.
