Burg Hülshoff, Renaissance water castle in Havixbeck, Germany.
The castle features high three-tiered gables, surrounded by a water-filled moat and extensive parkland with ancient beech trees and flowerbeds.
First documented in 1349, the castle became the residence of the Droste zu Hülshoff family in 1417 and underwent major reconstruction between 1540 and 1545.
The Droste Museum within the castle displays exhibits about poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff, who was born and lived here for thirty years.
The castle restaurant, located in the vaulted cellar, operates from April to November and offers outdoor seating in the inner courtyard.
The Center for Literature at Hülshoff Castle functions as a research facility focusing on literature's interaction with other forms of art.
