Schloss Neuhaus am Inn

Schloss Neuhaus am Inn is a medieval castle situated on a rocky outcrop above the Inn River. The structure blends medieval fortification elements with Rococo decoration from its later renovations and now contains school facilities along with a chapel inside.

The castle was founded in the 14th century by Bavarian dukes as a stronghold along the river boundary. A major transformation in the mid-18th century introduced Rococo elements that continue to shape its appearance today.

The chapel inside the castle reflects its role as a place of spiritual importance for the community. It was built in the early 1900s with contemporary design and continues to serve as a gathering space for religious services and school celebrations.

In 1859, the English Sisters acquired the castle and established the region's first secondary school for girls there. This religious community shaped the castle's purpose until today and made it a center of female education in Bavaria.
