Memorial to the Murdered Members of the Reichstag

The memorial comprises 96 cast iron plates laid into the pavement in front of the Reichstag building in the Mitte district, each displaying the name and dates of a member of parliament. These plates form a continuous line that is easy to explore on foot and remains visible throughout all seasons.

The memorial was created to commemorate members of parliament who disappeared or were killed between 1933 and 1945 under Nazi rule. It documents a dark chapter when democratic representatives were systematically persecuted and removed from political life.
