Burg Roggenbach, Medieval castle in Wittlekofen, Germany.

The castle features two identical mountain towers constructed with ashlar technique, reaching 10 meters in height with walls measuring 2.5 meters thick.

Built around 1180 for the Counts of Nellenberg, the castle underwent multiple changes until its final destruction during the Peasants' War of 1525.

The fortress stands as a representation of medieval noble residences in southern Germany, reflecting the architectural preferences of different ruling families.

Located at 675 meters above sea level, the castle remains open to visitors who can explore the foundation walls and two partially preserved keeps.

The name originates from the Steina stream, formerly called Rockenbach, which influenced the castle's designation as Roggenbach.
