Burg Schauenstein

Burg Schauenstein is a medieval fortress on a hilltop in the Frankenwald region, built from stone with pronounced defensive walls and towers. The structure shows different construction phases and reflects expansions from various periods.

The castle sits strategically at a point from which four different valleys of the Frankenwald are visible, explaining its placement for trade monitoring. This geographic position makes the experience on the hilltop particularly rewarding today, as an uncommon panoramic view across the landscape unfolds from there.
