Burg Schneidlingen, Medieval castle in Schneidlingen, Germany
The castle features a trapezoidal layout with four wings, surrounded by a moat that received water from the Goldbach stream diversion.
The Halberstadt bishops acquired the castle in 1317, and between 1611 and 1617, the structure underwent substantial renovations in Renaissance style.
The castle served multiple community purposes from 1945 to 1990, functioning as both a kindergarten and a retirement home.
The central tower reaches 21 meters in height, with walls 2.90 meters thick and an entrance positioned at 11.5 meters above ground level.
The castle tower displays a baroque dome and coat of arms panels, representing architectural elements from different historical periods.
