Oder Bridge, International road bridge at Frankfurt Oder, Germany and Świecko, Poland border.
Oder Bridge is an arch bridge stretching approximately 581 meters across the Oder River between Frankfurt Oder in Germany and the border area on the Polish side. The structure carries the European route E30, connecting German Bundesautobahn 12 with Polish National Road 2 for cross-border vehicle flow.
The bridge was constructed between 1953 and 1957 to replace an earlier ferry crossing over the river. Expansion work took place from 1994 to 1995 to handle the increasing volume of traffic using the route.
The bridge serves as a daily crossing where German and Polish residents meet and interact with one another. People walk and drive across to visit family, shop, or conduct business on both sides.
Be aware of the border control checkpoints on both sides, as processing can take time depending on traffic volume. Travel during off-peak hours if you want a smoother crossing experience.
The bridge handles roughly 70 percent of all road freight traffic between Germany and Poland, making it a crucial commercial link for the region. This high volume of goods crossing daily reflects its importance to both countries' economies.
