The three-story underground facility spans 7,500 square meters with concrete walls 3 meters thick and ceilings reaching 7 meters in depth point.
Built between 1971 and 1976, the structure served as the primary command center for East Germany's Ministry of National Defense during the Cold War period.
The facility demonstrates German military engineering through its advanced systems for water, electricity, air filtration, and waste management designed for nuclear war survival.
The bunker opens for guided tours on Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00, with admission prices of 20 euros for adults and 10 euros for children.
The structure remained undetected by NATO intelligence until German reunification in 1990, despite its capacity to house 455 personnel for up to one month.
