Bugenhagenkirche

The Bugenhagenkirche is a three-bay hall church with a high nave, choir polygon, and western tower flanked by staircase structures. The interior is defined by its tall space and clear design, with the choir and tower forming the characteristic elements of the overall structure.

A church was first mentioned in Wieck in the 13th century, but the current building was constructed between 1881 and 1883. The rebuild came from the need to serve a growing population with a larger, modern house of worship.

The church is named after Pomeranian reformer Johannes Bugenhagen and displays ship models reflecting the maritime traditions of the local fishing community. These models show how closely the place is tied to the daily life and heritage of people who worked on the water.
