Burg Hewenegg, Medieval castle ruins in Immendingen, Germany.

The castle structure covered an area of 70 by 42 meters, featuring a rectangular main building and a trapezoidal forecourt with defensive walls.

The castle, first documented in 1291, belonged to the Herren von Hewen family before being transferred to the Grafen von Lupfen-Stühlingen in 1404.

The name of the castle combines Celtic language elements, with 'hewen' meaning cone and 'keven' denoting mountain, reflecting regional linguistic heritage.

The remains of Burg Hewenegg stand on a basalt cone 812 meters above sea level, approximately 2800 meters southeast of Immendingen church.

The castle site transformed into an 80-meter-deep quarry, where extensive stone extraction operations led to the formation of a lake.
