Mengerskirchen Castle

Mengerskirchen Castle is a fortified structure positioned on elevated terrain at approximately 430 meters, displaying architectural features from multiple periods. The building shows elements that reflect different construction phases and modifications made over centuries.

The castle was first documented in 1279 and served as the administrative center for the Amt of Mengerskirchen for centuries. In 1816 it ceased this role when the territory merged with Weilburg, though it retained importance as a community hub.

The castle now serves as the town hall where local residents handle their administrative matters. Visitors can observe how the medieval structure has been adapted to serve the community's everyday needs.
