Burg Mühlenbach, Medieval castle ruins in Koblenz, Germany
The remaining main tower of Burg Mühlenbach stands 23.5 meters tall, constructed from graywacke stone with distinct slit windows and a tent-shaped roof.
Hermann II von Helfenstein commissioned the construction of Burg Mühlenbach around 1300, which later passed to the House of Brandenburg in the 14th century.
Archaeological discoveries within the tower reveal evidence of residential use through ancient chimney structures, providing insights into medieval German castle life.
The five-story main tower requires visitors to follow a forest path to reach the structure, which sits near the source of the Mühlenbach river.
French forces destroyed most of the castle during the War of Palatinate Succession in 1692, leaving only the main tower as a testament to its past.
