Burg Neuhaus, Medieval castle in Igersheim, Germany.
The stone castle stands on a mountain spur at 329 meters above sea level, near the residential area of Staatsdomäne Neuhaus in Baden-Württemberg.
Built in the 13th century, the castle became a fief of the Bishopric of Würzburg in 1320 and formed part of the Deutschordensamt Neuhaus administration.
The castle grounds now serve as a venue for medieval markets and historical reenactments, maintaining connections with regional traditions and heritage.
The core castle ruins remain accessible to visitors, while the forecourt has been used for breeding Trakehner horses in recent years.
During the 17th century, the castle gained notoriety as a prison and torture facility, particularly during the period of witch trials.
