Burgstall Böheimstein is the site of a medieval fortification on Schlossberg in Pegnitz, located at about 543 meters elevation. The stone foundations and walls that remain offer views across the Bavarian landscape.
History
The fortification was built in the 14th century and came under the control of Emperor Charles IV in 1357, who renamed it Böheimstein. The new name was meant to reflect his connection to his Bohemian territories.
